Amazon and Chewy Picks,  Product Reviews

Cat items I bought on Amazon that I would buy again and again.

Cats, we love them like our children even spend just as much money on them. I have been a cat owner for all of my adult life. My last cat had a decent amount of toys, but I have found with the rise of Amazon, my two new furbabies are spoiled even more.

The downside to shopping on amazon is that you don’t always know what you’re going to get. Some things are amazing while others you find yourself wondering where all those positive reviews came from. That is why I wanted to share with you my favorite cat items I have bought on Amazon.

Yvelife Cat Laser Toy Automatic

Automatic toys are one of the best things when it comes to entertaining your cat. They work all day while you are gone and can keep them from getting into things and destroying your house. Pumpkin is a very active cat and automatic toys come in handy when I can’t be home or when I’m trying to work from home.

I choose this laser because it didn’t cost a lot and will automatically turn on and off all day. It plugs right into the wall and has a decent cord length so it can be placed a good distance from a plug if needed. It also has 3 different laser options so you can make it close to the laser appear farther away. I use this in a small apartment and it works wonderfully.

The only thing I would have liked would be for this to be motion-activated, but I’ll be honest I just didn’t want to spend the extra. I had no idea if my cats would like it so I didn’t want to invest much into it. This toy, however, seems to do the job even without the motion activation and my cats love it. So if or when this one dies I would probably buy it again.

Cat Teaser Ball

This toy is one of the newest additions to my home. It’s easy to put together and comes with many different options for the accessory. It automatically moves the toy around so they can play without your help. It comes with a few different attachments so you can choose the ones your cat likes the best. Both of mine love feathers so that has been the one we have used so far. It also comes with a few “tail-like” options and fluffy balls.

I have had this toy for about a month now and though they don’t use it often, mostly because I have to turn it on, they do use it. I have even caught them playing with it just because it’s hanging there. I would love this so much more if it were motion-activated or on some sort of timer like the laser I have.

I think part of the reason, they don’t use it more is because it is attached to their cat tree so there is not a lot of room to play with it. We don’t have a dining table, and there is no other place we can clip this. I do think if you have a shelf mounted to the wall or another shelf option that would be ideal. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment building that does not allow screws in the walls, so that is not an option for me. However, I still love this teaser and highly recommend it.

The Cat Ladies Cat Grass Kit (Organic)

Cat grass is a must-have if you want to have plants in your home and have cats. It is one of my most recommended solutions to keep your cats out of your plants and works well for my cats. I love this cat Ladies kit because it’s organic, easy to set up, and comes with a wooden box that helps keep your cat from pulling up the entire container when they eat. If you have ever used one of the small plastic cat grass containers you know what I’m talking about.

It comes with the grass seed, soil, wooden container, and a plastic liner. The soil comes in a puck and all you have to do is add water to create all the soil you need.

Catnip Spray

This is another new addition to my arsenal of cat products. I have had catnip before, but since my last cat was never into catnip I didn’t even think about a catnip spray. It wasn’t until I got a cat scratcher that I really wanted my cats to use that I found a spray and after a bit of research I found the Pet Craft Supply Premium Potent Catnip spray. They also have regular catnip too.

I bought the spray and was really surprised at how well it worked. Even now they come running whenever it’s sprayed, even if they are in the next room. They still don’t use the scratcher as often as I would like them to, but it does seem to have a fun effect on them. They go crazy rubbing against anything it’s sprayed on and the day before writing this, I found my cat, Dixie on the scratch post clinging to it with both sets of paws and licking the part I sprayed. Unfortunately, she moved before I could get a photo, but if she does it again and I catch her I’ll add it below.

Bergan Turboscratcher Cat Toy

Most cat owners know about this toy, but I have found that Amazon can be much cheaper to buy this on than local stores. I also have trouble finding them now anywhere but Amazon and that is why this makes this list. The turbo scratcher cat toy is a favorite of my cats. It’s simple and can be changed out to so many things. I use mine with the scratcher and ball, but you can put cat grass in it or even buy a ball that lights up for it.

Pet Naturals of Vermont – Calming for Cats

These treats were so helpful when I moved from Michigan to Tennessee, they kept my cats calm the entire trip and allowed them to rest and relax. If you are looking at a long-distance move check out my post on how to move long distances with cats.

I still use them when Pumpkin goes a little crazy and needs to calm down. I have not had it confirmed by a vet, but he does seem to have anxiety sometimes and these treats help him so much. I just give him one every time he acts a bit stressed and if they are going to the vet or when we moved I would give both of my cats two treats.

Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer

This may seem like a strange one, as most cat people will go right to their vet, but a couple of years ago Pumpkin kept getting worms, and at the time I couldn’t afford a trip to the vet for them. I had dealt with them before so I knew exactly what they were. That was when I found Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer and it’s been wonderful. I keep one on hand, but knowing I can get it quickly is great.

It works fast and all I do is crush the pills and add them to his food. If you have a cat that will take a pill you can just give it to them. My two will not take pills so I have to sneak them in. The good news is they still work well crushed. I usually just have to give him one and the worms disappear however sometimes I have to give him two. There are three pills in each bottle.

Please if you don’t have experience with worms or are not sure what kind they have, do take your cat to the vet, I am not a veterinarian and am not giving you veterinary advice.

Comsmart Cat Water Fountain

The last one on this list is one of my favorates, however I do want to disclose that I have changed to a new water fountan due to my mom and her dog moving in. We needed something with more of a water bowl.

What I love about this fountain is that it’s just cute. It’s perfect for cats who love a fresh stream of water. It has filters you will also have to buy and can be put on an auto-ship so that makes it so easy. Adding water is simple and it’s not really hard to clean. My cats really loved this fountain and I would buy it again if we didn’t have the dog.

The downside to this fountain is that there is a bright light, this is only a downside if you live in a studio apartment or just don’t like bright blue lights. Other then that it does make a great night light. It’s also a little difficult to clean if your not someone who keeps up with weekly cleanings. When I knew I was going to get a new fountain I stopped cleaning it weekly and waited 4 weeks. (I did change the filter in this time however). I noticed there was a buildup on the metal and a bit in the bowl itself.

I still recommend it because water fountains are great for all animals and as long as you keep up with simple cleaning it’s fine.
